Our Regional Umpire Developer, Corey Harrison, will run an umpire theory session and practical assessment on Sunday 26th April 9-10:30am (Theory only).
Then participants can do the practical side of the Level 1 Umpire accreditation. Please contact your club umpire coordinator to arrange a game to umpire.
PRE COURSE WORK
1. The Foundation Support Umpire - which is done online by the learner. This is basic course that is designed for beginners and will provide everything you need to start umpiring.
2. The Foundation Lead Umpire Theory - This is what we would do in Bendigo at the Hockey Centre as a group. Some of this is basic stuff and can be boring for some, but it does go over the tougher and more detailed rules, skills and ways to manage games. With this course there is a cost of $80.00. Please note that the support umpire course needs to be completed first.
2. The Foundation Lead Umpire Practical - This is where the magic happens! After everyone has completed the online theory, Corey can then go into the assessment of your umpiring. Please note, just because you have completed the theory, does not mean you will automatically pass the practical. This is where he will coach and work with umpires to improve on what they already know.
